What is it about?

Chads Theatre is a fantastic local asset. Standing at the top of Mellor Road, Cheadle Hulme, it has been at its present location since the mid fifties. It has an enviable reputation for putting on high quality plays.

Our Centenary Project is about re-roofing and refurbishing our theatre. We need to raise almost £300,000 to complete the work. Of course we already have money saved from our income but we do need to raise funds. This season has been quite successful. We have raised:

£25,000 from a bid to the Garfield Weston Foundation

Over £10,000 from the Christmas Challenge, where Garfield Weston doubled donations made by supporters

And £1,350 from the Smartie Tube collection

All our social events (like the June Ball) will also add to the coffers.

Now we are planning more fund raising.

We have registered our cause with easyfundraising and have so far raised about £50. We need all you on line shoppers to register, too.

We are setting up a 100 Club, where members make a monthly donation of £5 to the theatre and have their number entered each month into a prize draw.

Details of both the above are available in our recent newsletters or by email

We are also planning to have special T shirts for the Christmas show, which will be our 400th production and are hoping to plan a summer fete in 2016.

If you have any further ideas for raising funds, please contact Ann Quaife at the email address above.
