Two by Jim Cartwright

Two is set in a pub somewhere in the North of England, owned by the savagely bickering married couple bound together by the necessity of keeping the business afloat.  During the course of the evening, a number of regular customers arrive and depart, events which trigger a fragile movement towards reconciliation between the couple.

Winner of the Manchester Evening New Best New Play award, Two premiered at the Bolton October in 1989 and opened at the Young Vic, in London in November 1990.

Award-winners Heather Bowman and John Smeathers – last seen together is Bedroom Farce – play all 14 parts in this Northern ‘slice-of-life’ comedy-drama.

This fabulous piece is directed by David Quaife.
