Stones In His Pockets  (STUDIO) by Marie Jones - 15 to 22 Sept.’18

A ‘sad, hilarious and irresistible’ two-man show about the filming of a Hollywood “Oirish” epic in County Kerry. A pair of local lads, Charlie and Jake, who have been recruited as extras, tell the story by playing all 15 characters (male and female!) themselves. What happens when rural impoverished Ireland meets Hollywood money has unexpected consequences – both joyous and tragic.
Winner of 2 Olivier Awards.

Death and the Maiden (STUDIO) by Ariel Dorfman - 21 to 24 Nov.’18

Ariel Dorfman’s explosively provocative, award-winning drama is set in a country that has only recently returned to democracy. Gerardo Escobar has just been chosen to head the commission that will investigate the crimes of the old regime when his car breaks down and he is picked up by Doctor Roberto Miranda. However, on hearing Miranda’s voice, Gerardo’s wife, Paulina , thinks she recognizes him . Was he someone she has met before in more sinister circumstances? Tense and absorbing drama.

Molly Sweeney (STUDIO) by Brian Friel - 20 to 23 Feb.’19

This play by one of Ireland’s foremost playwrights tells the story of Molly, a woman who has been blind from infancy, who undergoes an operation intended to restore her sight. We hear the story from the perspectives of Molly, her husband Frank, and the surgeon Paddy Rice, as three interwoven monologues that together form a powerful drama underscoring the connection between vision and understanding. Beautifully observed, this most thought-provoking play packs a huge dramatic and emotional punch.
