Henry Preece takes early retirement and moves with his wife Angela to Gloucestershire to enjoy a quiet life in the country.  But Henry does not foresee just how shockingly his life will change. He has a passionate affair with one of his new neighbours, Joanna Barley, but then Angela mysteriously disappears on a shopping trip to London.  This is a thriller with a difference, an atmospheric study of ordinary life and how it can become extraordinary and uncontrollable.
